Because…just because. Go with it.

I started with basic straight lines crossing the page. This is how most lies begin.

Then I filled in all the corners of the wedges. This is the most fun step for some reason, probably because I’m a weirdo.

Now that the corners of your mind…er drawing have gone dark, vary the direction of repeated arcs within the shapes, to cover your lies from every angle. Triangular shapes are easy. The trapezoidal shapes were a bit more challenging. It’s big word Wednesday, btw.

And voila! You have a tangled web of lies, solid for a moment yet so frail as soon as a little pressure is applied.

Don’t be a liar. Liars suck.

I feel like I’m in a perpetual state of recovery these past months. Maybe because I am. 😦

As always, doodling to the rescue! It’s been a great distraction.

Who’s with me?

I call this one “Visitors” because I had house guests when I created it, but also because the end product reminded me a bit of a giant beanstalk with some sort of alien growth. ~____^

The video is a combination of time lapse and real time. At the beginning of each new section, watch in real time to get a feel for the movement. Then enjoy the remainder in time lapse.

Do you love visitors as much as I do?!?! The more, the merrier.

I drew this while sitting in a cramped, very old theater while my girls rehearsed their play. Or rather…while the director took an hour just to get started and then they rehearsed their play. The experience was first frustrating but then remarkably nostalgic, bringing me back to my theater days.

I’m both shocked and thrilled that my marker test was a success! No bleed-through at all. This book really is perfect now. Toothy paper perfect for colored pencils and thick enough that markers don’t bleed through. I mean, come on…

Available on Amazon!

Today is the last day to get it for $7.50.
Regular price $9.50.

Here’s the back side of that page. No bleed-through! Have I mentioned how excited I am about this?

I drew this with a Sharpie in my new Kraft paper sketchpad. When I had everything drawn except the wind at the top left, I showed it to my husband and said, “Something’s missing. What does it need?” He suggested the wind. This is why I keep him around.

And because I got such instantaneous rave reviews from my family and friends (I love you guys), I posted it on Society6.com. Enjoy.
