And… dah dah dah! The final doodle art drawing that I’m calling Giggly. …which is so unlike me.
And since you all only ever see me draw in super speed, I thought I’d share a piece in real time. Yeah… it’s slow. My point? Don’t rush when you’re doodling. The point is to relax, slow down (in life, not just doodling) and chill. Just. Slow. Down.
You should also know I was holding my phone camera for this one and actually drawing through my view on the phone. Don’t judge me.

I had a rare opportunity to sit home in my PJs all day today and, of course, managed to work for a few hours and unpack boxes for another couple of hours. That’s just me. I can’t sit around all day and do nothing. Today turned out quite well. I feel rejuvenated. So enjoy the time lapse video of this spunky doodle being created.

I am really happy with this design, as you can see because I’ve already uploaded it on Society6.com in both its original black and white and as in color. Which do you like better?
It’s such a simple design. Start with a squiggly, add “leaves.” That’s all. When filling in the large black areas, don’t “color” in the traditional sense. Draw consecutive straight lines across the page until it’s all covered. It sounds ridiculous but it lends for a very clean black area. Also, you can’t really see it in the progress shots but I started this one with a compass and a very light penciled in circle. It’s something new I’ve been trying. If you don’t have a compass, try tracing a large, round object.

I hope everyone is having some Summer fun. It goes by way too fast!
We spent most of the day hunting and digging through flea markets and thrift shops for additions to our photography business wardrobe. After some amazing finds in stores we’ve had our eye on for almost 2 years, we headed home where I whipped this baby up in no time.
P.S. I’m liking this naming-doodles-after-the-days-events stuff. Your thoughts?
Maybe it was just my horrible day that went into the naming of this one… OK it definitely was. Anyway I hope you all had a great day. It was amazingly beautiful weather here today at least. And now that I’ve had some time for my doodle therapy, I’m feeling much better.
Phew… this one took me a while. Pretty much all week. I hope you enjoy it. I tried a few different zooms on the video this time. Let me know if you prefer the wide angle where you can see the whole drawing or the close-ups so you can see all the details.
She’s my #1 inspirational artist! Thank you, Shannie, for sharing these with me so I can share them with the world. I love her style. I love that our styles are so different yet she’s the one who got me into it. And when I lose inspiration and get tired of doodling the same things over and over, I spend a week at her house, watching her doodle in her own style, and I’m ready to go again.
